although both of these situations look better then average to go for a ride on, i think there is more involvement with each different twist and turn. i am more drawn to not knowing what is coming around the next curve. it may take you a little more time and effort to get from one spot to the next but that's the half of the point for me... to some extent. i left out the way too curvy example. it looked like too much work and not too fun
